Somewhere the two note Jaws theme song was playing.

Somewhere else explosions were set to the 1812 overture finale.

In the present there was a large tree. It was a very confused tree. There were your typical religious decorations, including a Menorah handmade from popsicle sticks with painted on flames, some that really didn’t belong on a tree. Then there was some Jack thought he’d seen in horror movies and others from cave paintings. And those were teeth on that branch.

Large teeth.

In between the odd and….odder ornaments were the usual popcorn strings, with suspicious looking red accents donated by unsuspecting victims, and enough tinsel to blind. And there went a shark fin surfacing in the lower branches.

It was a tree that hurt to look at.

But every religion, cult, or random shiny object, had its fair share of hanging space. Without weapons blazing. It was almost poetic and the aggravated peace, apart for when the symbol of a minor Egyptian sect crashing through the branches as foam knocked it away.

Except for the tinsel. Jack was sure there was enough for an elephant to drown in and that was simply too much.

And all those overzealous holiday cheer and not very subtle threats, really big teeth, seemed to vanish next to the flashes of fur and teeth slowly sliding between branches, occasionally stopping to sample the popcorn, but making its’ way inexorably towards the top of the tree, monster sized as it was, and the shiny bauble topping the light show.

A disco ball.

No one laid claim to the disco ball that sat catching even the idea of any light in the room, okay he really suspected one of his brothers, but it had caught the tree sharks attention and it was
only a matter of time.

Destruction was seconds away.

Set to the theme of Jaws and cuteness.

Seeing as how the furry body attached to tiny shark fin, painted black as sin an attached carefully in a way safe for small growing creatures, ahem…. Anyway the elaborate, if small, creation was attached to an equally tiny kitten, whose blown pupils were set firmly on the Tree Angel-Disco-Ball. Thing.

Set for Carnage.

The tree had seconds to live.

Jack was counting them.

And then a blur of orange and white fur, topped by the jauntily angled shark fin, crested the top of the tree and the disco ball went flying.
Set from Jack's POV but it's subtle, I actually saw this before I saw :iconthedarkdesert:
